Vaulting
Vaulting takes an impressionistic approach to communicating the scale and atmosphere of Tree Cathedral. Layered loops of notes and rhythmic patterns overlap to form something more complex than its constituent parts, drawing parallels between Tree Cathedral and composers such as Riley, Reich and Oliveros. Reclaimed pieces of native hardwoods including maple, oak and lime are used as percussion in reference to the trees themselves.
